VOX Pop
The Vox Pop is a tool used in many forms of media to provide a snapshot of public opinion. Random subjects are asked to give their views on a particular topic and their responses are presented to the viewer as a reflection of popular opinion. The media use Vox Pops for many reasons, but chiefly for the following:
- to test public opinion and reaction
- to influence decision-makers
- to forecast results of events
- to stimulate public debate

The USA Women’s Hockey team intended to boycott this year's International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship in Michigan. With three defending world champions, The USA women's hockey team was busy battling the sports governmental body asking for equal pay and benefits that male athletes, especially those in the NHL receive.
